The Climate Agenda

Paul Kelly ("Delusional media runs its own agenda", 10 Dec) must be congratulated for drawing attention to the failure of most Australian media to recognise the validity of Garnaut's conclusion that there can be no practical or even moral reason for Australia to adopt a target to reduce CO2 emissions that did not involve a comprehensive global agreement that includes major developing countries.
But the same question arises in regard to the science, which Garnaut acknowledged has large uncertainties. Why hasn't the Australian media recognised that there are literally thousands of scientists who reject the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change conclusion that increased human activity is causing dangerous increases in temperature? Why hasn't the same media identified and publicised the many reasons given for this rejection? Why haven't they called for a proper inquiry into the science before any emission reduction policy is adopted?
